Hello Dear Friend

This creation is a very literal interpretation of the current CAS(E) this sketch challenge. I used PTI's 2012 Anniversary set for my images and sentiment. For some reason, I decided to use SU's Sanded background stamp to fill the frame.  I like the way it looks a lot, but then I wondered if it would bring to  mind a cracked mirror when my dear friend looked into it. lol! I hope not.  That was not my intention.
Sometimes I crack myself up...

Thanks for stopping in today. Stay cool in your craft...

Love To You

This week's CASology cue is NEON.  I really wanted to play, but I did not have time to get any neon supplies. THEN! I remembered that I had bought the neon Copics and they have been hiding deep in my stash of way too many markers. Then I got my idea...

The Freshly Made Sketch this week was perfect for the design in my head.

I colored strips of white paper with neon Copics and adhered them to a sheet of printer paper.  That panel was cut with Paper Smooches LOVE word die.  The arrows were cut with an SU punch. "To you" from Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler was embossed in white. Fun!

Thank you for stopping in today.  It is a million degrees here in Northeastern US, and promises to be the same all week.  I am staying cool in my craft room for now!

Hey There

I just love this image from Hero Arts.  I decided to give her a paper-pieced-polka-dot-frock (try saying that 5 times fast) for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  Thanks for stopping in today.

With Gratitude

The current Catered Crop Recipe Swap challenge is to add buttons to your project.

This is my very simple take on the button challenge using strips of paper from BasicGrey's Indian Summer collection, buttons from PTI's Vintage button collection,  SU linen thread, and sentiment from Paper Smooches Chit Chat set stamped with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink.

Thanks for your visit. Have a great day!

GillFriend

This week's Paper Smooches Sparks challenge is a trend watch with this picture as inspiration for your creation. Create anything with the OCEAN as the focus or as part of the design!
ATCAS #17 - Take this code word and make it your own!

The fun card is born of these two challenges.  Of course, ocean and water are two things that I need to always be near.  This one was great fun to put together.  Thank you for coming by.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Thoughts and Prayers

I made this card for this week's Less Is More challenge which is to use at least two shades of grey.  I used three shades of grey on this creation. The image is SU's Medallion. The sentiment is from Verve's Meditations collection.

Thank you for your visit and please know how much I appreciate your comment. Have a lovely day!

Explosive!

This week's CASology cue is "Fireworks".

It occurred to me that I do not have any images of fireworks in my collection, and I could not think of a clever take on the cue that did not include fireworks. Then as I was visiting blogs this morning, I found THIS card by Christie from SchnauzerCrafts Creations that was made with Memorial Day in mind, and I decided to CASE it for this challenge using this weeks' Freshly Make Sketch for my layout.

Stamps are The Alley Way ~ KA-POW.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  If you are celebrating Fourth of July, have a great one. I am so happy to be going to a BBQ that includes swimming in a gorgeous pool!

Be well.

Thoughts of You

My blogger friend Joyce of Cards-by-the-Sea, who is such an avid crafter and is so supportive with her comments, made THIS fabulous card recently.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to CASE it.  So with her creation as inspiration along with this week's Retro Sketches challenge,

and this week's Less Is More challenge
SAND

which for this week is to use the color, the texture, scenes of sandy places, sandpaper, actual sand... or wherever your imagination takes you,
I came up with this card.

I love these starfish and sand dollar images and dies from WPlus9. I have owned them for a while, but I have never inked them up. Joyce's card inspired me to pull them out and enjoy them.  The Retro Sketch was the perfect layout for my idea.  As for the Less Is More challenge, I have not played in such a long time. My crafting time has been slim over the last year in particular.  I am a beach lover, so coming up with something with SAND as my inspiration to play this week (finally) was fun.  The best part is that when my 13 year old son saw my card, he said "I love the way the background looks like a sandy beach". That is just what I was going for, so yay!

Thank you so much for coming by today.  I am off for the summer. That combined with the weather having been so stormy here in the North Eastern part of the US for several days, has resulted in my getting much longed for crafting time.  Be well.
