Sending You Strength

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Things With Wings".

I stamped my Kraft card base with VersaMark ink to add a little interest to the background. I blended 3 Distress Oxide inks on the embossed panel done with SSS's Floral Centerpiece Embossing Folder. I added a foiled butterfly made with a Pinkfresh Studio Small Butterfly Plate. The sentiment was made with Spellbinders Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate and Cutting Dies. Both the butterfly and sentiment were popped up with foam tape.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Alice In Wonderland

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by Alice In Wonderland Day which takes place on July 4th.
The challenge runs from June 24th - July 4th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. This one was tricky, as I really had few things in my stash that would work for this celebration. With a little Googling, I found the perfect supplies (among many - who knew?).  I did have this wonderful embossing folder with time/clock/watch images, and decided to make that my background. My Alice images and sentiment are from Carabelle Studio's "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" stamp set. which is comprised of the two images and sentiment on my card. I stamped Alice and the rabbit with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copics, fussy cut them, and mounted them with Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, die cut, matted with black card stock, and glued to the embossed panel which was glued to a Night of Navy card base.

From the Inspo list I used rabbit, watch/clock and magic. Magic was a bit of a stretch, but I'm going with that. I think the card is pretty magical... just sayin'

Aloha

Time Out #216 begins today. It's a Theme Challenge where we are challenged to be Tropical.

The challenge runs from Thursday, June 16th  to Wednesday, June 29th. We are generously sponsored by Top Flight Stamps. Winner will receive a $25.00 gift voucher to the Top Flight Store.

For my take on tropical, I cut multiple strips in blues and greens from scraps with the Waffle Flower's Slimline Strips Die, glued them on to a 4 x 5.25 piece of card stock and trimmed the edges. I used the Pretty Pink Posh's Jungle Background Stencil with Ink on 3 Fleurette's - Atelier Ink. I cut a circle from Pinkfresh's Mini Slimline Essential Bundle on which I stamped a sentiment from Uniko's Paradise Stamp Set. I stamped and Copic colored some tropical images from Paper Smooches Get Outta Town set and adhered them to the circle die cut.

Sing

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is birds.

To create my card, I used a wood grain EF on a piece of Kraft card stock and used a flat ink blending tool to apply distress ink to the raised surfaces.. I stamped images from the Spring Birds Stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, colored them with Prismacolor pencils and cut them out with the matching dies. The sentiment is from  STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2. I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, embossed it with clear EP, cut it out and
adhered it to the wood grain panel. I used fun foam to pop the embossed panel up on 100# card stock and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

You Are The Song In My Heart

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by World Music Day, which takes place on June 21st.
The challenge runs from June 10th - June 20th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I had the design in my head almost as soon as I saw the challenge badge. I pulled out a Papertrey Ink set from way back in the wayback, called Rythm & Soul. It has a variety of instruments and wonderful sentiments to go with them. I stamped the guitar image with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on a piece of wood grain patterned paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I fussy cut and popped it up on an embossed background of musical notes, which I also popped up with fun foam on a red card base. I added a white heat embossed sentiment on black card stock from CAS-ual Friday's Love Notes stamp set, added some bling, and my card was complete.

I used music notes, black, white, instruments and embossing from the inspo list.

Surround Yourself With Friends

Less Is More #466 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card with a a masculine theme.

To create my card, I inked a portion of the main image from Birch Press Design's No One Like You stamp set with VersaMark ink and I embossed it with WOW Primary Lagoon embossing powder. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, embossed it with WOW clear embossing powder. die cut it with a Lil' Inker stitched circle die, and popped it up among the fishies. Just to give it a little more interest, I die cut the stamped panel with Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangle Dies and popped it up on the card base.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations.
