Wishing You The Happiest of Holidays

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

For my Winter Solstice-themed project, I used: blue, purple, snowflake and metallics. I had a beautiful piece of blue and purple watercolor background in my stash that I die cut with a Spellbinder Hemstitch Circle die. I die cut the snowflake from white glitter paper with the Alicia Snowflake die from Simon Says Stamp and glued it to the die cut circle. I backed that with a silver metallic die cut circle. The sentiment is from PTI's Think Big Favorites #20.

'Tis The Season

I bought this Hero Arts Sweater Die die last year and never used it. This wonderful patterned paper in my Christmas stash has all the colors in the adorable trees in the Inspired By... Brush on Color challenge photo. When I  saw it, I knew just what to do!

I just love the way this turned out. The French knot detail was inspired by Nicole Spohr's video Here.

Let's Celebrate

It's time for a new, and the final LIM challenge of 2020I am surely looking forward with hope about many things, to a new year.  Here at Less Is More, we finish up with the dreaded or beloved One Layer Card. Way back when this challenge first started, I was terrified of one layer challenges. I have grown to be a lover.

We are generously sponsored by CASual Fridays Stamps.

Our Guest Designer is Chrissie Stokes of Simply One Of A Kind. Chrissie is the founder of our challenge, and truly the Queen of CAS design. Please visit Chrissie's blog and leave her some love. Her work is truly inspiring!

I created a card that I just loved for this challenge, but when my alarm went off on the day the card was due, I became aware that I missed the part about the one layer card requirement. I had to punt at the last minute (really) with a different card. I must say that this card was made in record time BEFORE I went to work (5:30 AM) in a very short period of time, and I am incredibly proud and amazed that I pulled it off!!!  Card made, photographed and posted before jumping in the shower at 6:15!! Whew!

I used Winnie & Walter's Party On (circa 2017 - no longer available) for the string that holds the lanterns. I then used the small lantern stamp from The Party (circa 2015 - no longer available) to add the festive lanterns to the string and for the sentiment. I used my Prismacolor Pencils for the first time to color the lanterns and hearts on the string. I would say that it is pretty festive. Love the lanterns!

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for show CASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

Hot Diggity Dog!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. For Challenge #175, we are challenged to be QUICK.

We are sponsored by Catherine Pooler Designs. Challenge winner will receive a $25 gift voucher to spend at the discount at the Catherine Pooler Designs Store.

For my card, I chose to interpret "quick" as the time it took to make my card. The process of coming up with my design was pretty quick, and because it consists mainly of die cuts, it went together quite quickly. I forgot to set the timer, but I would say it took about 15 minutes. With all the parts, I think that is pretty quick... for me anyway! I have been know to spend hours on a CAS design!!!

I used Catherine Pooler Peeking Pets Stamps & Dies, a gift from Catherine Pooler for which I am grateful. I used Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Stencil to color the backgrounds for the dogs. I stamped the dogs in black, and colored the party hats to mach the striped backgrounds. The sentiment is stamped from Essentials By Ellen Clever Sausage Stamp Set, and die cut with MFT Fishtail Flag dies. I am super happy with the way this one turned out! I am a bit slimline reluctant, so this was a good experience.

You're My Person

It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More. Challenge #432 is to make a Clean & Simple creation with the colors blue & silver or red and gold.
Our wonderful sponsor and awesome supporter is CAS-ual Friday Stamps.

We're joined by our fantastic August winner, Kathy K from Purple Princess Diaries. Please stop by her blog to see her wonderful art work and leave her some love.

For my card, I used CAS-ual Fridays Heart Board Dies to cut the nesting hearts out of blue and silver mirror card stock (the blue looks black in my photo...), and the arrow stamped with a sentiment from Cupid's Arrow Stamp Set (retired). The top panel is die cut with an Avery Elle Stitched Wonky Rectangle die. I love the way this turned out, and I will definitely send it to my person!
